One of the most popular services of Republic Gun Club is our on-site gunsmith. Our gunsmith can help inspect, maintain, and repair your firearm to ensure your gun is functioning properly. Having your gun cleaned and inspected will not only keep it lasting for years to come, but it will also ensure that your gun is operating safely for you and others around you. With an on-site gunsmith, you can easily have your gun inspected before or after a range day for the ultimate convenience. What Is A Gunsmith?

 

A gunsmith is a tradesperson who specializes in repairing, modifying, or building firearms. While the duties of a gunsmith will vary from position to position, most gunsmiths in gun clubs will be specialized in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing firearms for club members and guests of the club. Gunsmiths are proficient in many specialty tools and are abreast of local and federal laws pertaining to firearms.

Gunsmith Duties Usually Include:

​

• Assemble and disassemble firearms

• Inspect, clean, and lubricate firearms

• Remove corrosion from metal gun parts

• Repair damaged guns

• Add custom or aftermarket parts, such as swivels, recoil pads, sights, scopes, grips, and stocks.

• Repair or refinish wooden handles, grips, and stocks

• Touch up engravings and other markings

• Fit barrels

• Remove dents

• Correct headspace of guns and cartridges

• Replace barrels and firing mechanisms

• Modify pull weight and other trigger mechanisms
